Why do so many Republicans who say "government is the problem" want to be in charge of it?

Why don't they want to be in charge of some other way to serve mankind? Such as charity work?

1. Good question

that I have pondered. The answer that I keep returning to is that they are full of BS and they think it will persuade people to vote for them. Lying worked for a long time and they think that we will simply trust them... they want to be elected to destroy government from the inside not recognizing that they already have.

They want people to hate it, give up on it having any meaningful role.

Then they can use it to get richer.

3. simply put, they lie.

they absolutely love government.

government keeps the poor people in line.
government protects the property of the wealthy
government taxes the masses and hands out looting opportunities to the wealthy
government sends poor people to war to protect businesses of the wealthy

see? government is good for the wealthy and lousy for the poor.
republicans love that.

when they pretend to hate on government, they're really hating government helping the poor and/or taxing the wealthy.
