These police murders are America, folks.

My god, how can America even defend its image abroad anymore.

This is beyond horrible.

Like the scene in Angel Heart...when Mickey Rourke has to look in the mirror.

It's a nightmare.

"I know who I am!"

I wonder if this is another community where overbearing nutjob officers are supposed to finance the local government by stopping and fining every black motorist they see as often as possible.

It's a purely internal thing.

You've got other problems, like e.g. alumni of the School of the Americas acting out in countries designated for destabalization by your gov't, and you've got mercenary Acadami trained armies working in the ME, and so on, all of which plays havoc with your reputation abroad.

Don't confuse the two.

These are human rights issues.

It is a direct reflection of who the US is and does try to burnish its image abroad.

I believe there's something flowing from the identical cause.

But I don't think the US cares a damn about "burnishing its image abroad", if that'd mean outlawing the School of the Americas and maybe prosecuting some of the worst. Or if that'd mean not using Academi and other mercenary outfits, both for destruction and rebuilding - and not playing the "we're funding moderate rebels" card while smiling away lies about how it's all for democracy and freedom.

If the US cared a damn about that, it wouldn't happen decade after decade, getting worse and not better.

How and why you gun down your own has little or no effect on *that* image.
