Reports: Barry Manilow marries manager Garry Kief

Story here

Well, Pink News got the bulletin from the National Enquirer, so who knows? But if it's true, good.

According to a report in the National Enquirer, the ‘Mandy’ singer – who has never publicly spoken about his sexuality – tied the knot with his manager and long-term partner.

The supermarket tabloid reports that the pair married in a surprise ceremony attended by 50 guests – who were led to believe they had been invited to a lunch.

Music
"Mandy"

I remember all my life
Raining down as cold as ice.
Shadows of a man,
A face through a window cryin' in the night,
The night goes into
Morning just another day;
Happy people pass my way.
Looking in their eyes,
I see a memory I never realized how happy you made me.

Oh Mandy well,
You came and you gave without taking,
But I sent you away.
Oh, Mandy well,
Kissed me and stopped me from shaking,
And I need you today.
Oh, Mandy!

I'm standing on the edge of time;
I've walked away when love was mine.
Caught up in a world of uphill climbing,
The tears are in my mind and nothin' in rhyming.

Oh Mandy well,
You came and you gave without taking,
But I sent you away.
Oh, Mandy well,
Kissed me and stopped me from shaking,
And I need you today.
Oh, Mandy!

Yesterday's a dream
I face the morning
Crying on a breeze
The pain is calling
Oh Mandy
Well, you came and you gave without taking
But I sent you away oh, Mandy
Well, you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you today Oh, Mandy
You came and you gave without taking
But I sent you away oh, Mandy
Well, you kissed me and stopped me from shaking
And I need you

are you sure its about a dog?

The name of the song was 'Brandy' but it was changed because of the song that was popular at the time it was sent in.

Casey Kasem explained that he couldn't play songs that had never been on the top 40, but a couple of years later he played the song as a tribute to the person who sent it in because it had been in the top 40.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Manilow

At least that's the story he told on the radio one week when I was listening to the top 40.

Under the title Brandy, the selection's original title, the song charted in 1971 for Scott English, one of its co-composers....

The suggestion that Scott English wrote the song about a favorite dog is apparently an urban legend. English has said that a reporter called him early one morning asking who "Brandy" was, and an irritated English made up the "dog" story to get the reporter off his back

Went to one of his first concerts at The Troubadour way back when and several since.

His lyrics speak to many people and he is a fantastic composer as well as a showman. I wouldn't describe it as 'hype'. Fans love him and that's the way it is.

don't like his music at all. Not one bit.

I was in Vegas for a family destination wedding. Escorted several older female relatives to another casino...you'd have thought we were moving the troops on D-Day..though I'd stab my eardrums out, but it turned out to be a really well-done concert.

I will only share this on an anonymous Internet board, mind you.

Barry's contributions to popular music are not only writing, signing, and piano playing, but arranging and producing as well.

He has the right voice and delivery for the songs he sings.

I wish happiness to him and his spouse.

The guys started talking abotu how awful Barry was, then one by one they admit, well Mandy is ok, and other songs aren't too bad, and in a few minutes they're like schoolgirls and run to his concert...Barry actually voiced himself.

Best wishes to them.

I love Manilow and his Music.

I have known he was gay since my college years (going back to the latter half of the 80's). It's not my place to explain why I know, but it really doesn't matter.

I am really happy that he is able to marry the love of his life.

He just never found the right girl. Sad. It's lonely at the top.

Manilow came out as "bisexual" during Anita Bryant's terror campaign in Miami, in 1977. David Cassidy (The Partridge Family) also came out as bi during Bryant's anti-gay campaign.
