OK, it was premature when he was awarded it in 2009. I admit that. But look at what he has done since then: Ended the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, reached out to nations around the world, shook hands with the Cuban leadership, and even negotiated an arms treaty with Iran (with support from many other nations, hello). He's no Chamberlain, he's a tough peacemaker, and that will be his legacy.
I'm in my mid-60s, and I remember the Cuban missile crisis vividly. And so much more, including the insane errors of Vietnam and Iraq. This is a great president on foreign policy, and it's time to recognize it.

Secretary of State Kerry negotiated a framework for a possible teaty with Iran. Thee is no treaty yet.
We are bombing ISIS targets in Iraq and Syria.
i think you are a bit premature about peace.

(32,006 posts)troops will be in Afghanistan. Those wars are not ended. He has increased drone strikes in Pakistan and Yemen. There is no agreement with Iran. If shaking hands will get you the Nobel prize then most presidents should get it.
