There has never been one day I am not thankful that he kept that hateful psychotic John McCain out of the Oval Office. We would probably see mushroom clouds if he got his hands on the button, to say nothing of Sarah Palin.

McCain is trying to tell me that the topic on Raúl's mind
--as the President of the United States discussed reintroducing the two countries after 50 years of ill will--was NOT, according to McCain, how the two of them could achieve the shared goal of normalization, but RATHER, McCain is twittering that McCain's good friend Raúl was distracted thinking about what McCain would think of this overture by the President of the United States.

And how important the subject of McCain's opinion was to the President of Cuba.

That's what you're trying to tell me, McCain?

Gawlllly, what a surprise to learn that McCain, and McCain's opinion about anything, would be uppermost in Raúl's mind!

I, for one, would never have expected that.

But who do I think I am to doubt John McCain?

"McCain was a bit more snarky about the situation on Twitter. “So Pres Obama goes to #Panama, meets with Castro and attacks me — I’m sure Raúl is pleased,” the senator wrote."

"Panama" - McCain's birthplace. So is McCain mad that the President had the audacity to set foot in the country where McCain was born, because he certainly wasn't born in the "continental U.S."?

John Kerry is a hero - in Vietnam and today. McCain is not. Not then and not now.

I can just imagine the pressure he was under. He was expected to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, with a single minded devotion to Naval promotion/success and he OBVIOUSLY wasn't up to the expectations. His 'maverick' behavior caused problems for others and himself. It would have been interesting to see how his life would have turned out, minus the P.O.W. situation. I doubt he would ever have made it to Admiral status, and certainly not marriage to a super rich, much younger woman OR a career in the Senate.

Kerry is the Real Thing. McCain, sans his POW experience, is nothing.

Even in that, McCain did not behave honorably, although it is difficult to blame anyone who succumbed in the circumstances that he did. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_McCain#Prisoner_of_war

McCain only acted mildly decent two times for 5 minutes in his life. First when that idiot woman said Senator Obama was a terrorist and McCain shut her down and his "loser speech" when he shut down his supporters booing President Elect Obama and told them to shut up. Otherwise he has been evil. The funniest time for me was when he announced Joe the Plumber at one of his campaign stops and Joe wasn't even in the state....I was rolling on the floor wantching that news clip.

McCain - Vietnam vet (questionable hero)
Kerry - Vietnam vet (real hero)
McCain - US Senator
Kerry - US Senator
McCain - presidential candidate
Kerry - presidential candidate

now they diverge to:

McCain - bitter-loser US Senator
Kerry - Secretary of State
McCain - traitorous angry-old-man, (still) US Senator
Kerry - man of honor, (still) Secretary of State

He also is a war veteran and hero. Since then he has lived a life of integrity and is always very much a class act. Not even his best friends have said that of McCain.
