Lilly Ledbetter: 'Silence isn't golden with equal pay law'

Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking with women across the Granite State about President Barack Obama’s accomplishments on equal pay for equal work.

Obama, as the father of two girls and the grandson of a woman who worked in a bank long after she hit the glass ceiling, is committed to making sure women have tools at their disposal to fight back against unequal pay.

That’s why the president created a National Equal Pay Task Force, championed flexible work policies so women don’t have to choose between their jobs and their families, and signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which gives women the power to challenge pay discrimination where they work.

This is personal for the president, and it’s personal to me.
