It was amazing no one on Morning Joe today pointed out that maybe he wasn't shot out of the sky because the authorities didn't know if he could have landed on some people. Those rotors are big and could whack away at anybody nearby.

If something big enough goes down, you'll hear about it. Aside from that, most everything else is just static anyway.

(63,911 posts)The police might have not been sure whether there were people in his path or not and made a decision to let him land.
Also they were unsure whether he had a bomb device...the Bomb Squad was called and on the scene after he landed...a crash might have accelerated an explosion. There were no really good options...
