Im not sure about the rules here and posting other websites so i wont post the place i hang out at just yet unless someone says its ok but i've been chatting with a certain group of people for about 10 years now. everytime a chatroom website goes down we always seem to group up somewhere else.
the right wingers in there are the absolute worst. like the gop party itself they've turned their back on facts and numbers and sources and evidence and proof and logic. but there are plenty of them in there and they huddle together for support and mostly toss out personal insults while the rest of us are trying to have a legitimate discussion about the issues. and the 'facts' they do sometimes toss out can usually be shot down with a 16 second google search.
anyone else finding it tough to engage in righties with the intent to actually debate the issues?
just wondering if anyone had another place to chat with some right wingers that will try to actually use some facts and accept the ones you present to them. like regular people.
or if you are bored feel free to join me in the room i hang out in. its entertaining if nothing else. left wingers are like the harlem globetrotters running circles around the other team really with not much effort at all. the challenge is gone.

(1,417 posts)It seems like most right wingers are high on emotion and lack any logic on most of the boards I read. None of them will see anything from any other point of view than what they're told on Faux News and right wing radio. Sorry I can't help, but I would like your opinion on something.
You said you have been posting with those people for ten years, so I ask, how was it ten years ago when talking to right wingers about politics? I ask because I was still in HS then and not heavily into politics. I am just wondering if it was always this bad or did the Bush years restart the divisive rhetoric that has grabbed hold of many Americans.

(46,705 posts)I'm sure the Washington Post and New York Times might have decent forums where you can actually follow a solid thread.

(4,876 posts)who are political enough to be posting on the internet are usually impossible to debate. They will say anything to be right. If you counter every one of their arguments with facts and corner them they will just lie, make stuff up or use the bible as a defense of the defenseless.

(6,238 posts)Sadly, there are a lot of right-wingers, neo-cons, libertarians, and even one Mussolini-style Fascist. There are also a lot of liberals, socialists, and a few communists.

(3,894 posts)or seven just inane, insulting posts, which then end up more the topic than the original topic.
I found it way too frustrating to even read, much less participate.
