"Your husbands political future will be directly impacted"
- Baltimore Fraternal Order of Police, to Marilyn Mosby.
I don't care how politely worded that was, it was a threat. Unbelievable.

Unarmed and Dangerous Ok, then. Lets just sweep things up and everyone go back to the status quo. Nothin to see here. Clearly. Oh and did a 7 year old sign that letter?

Josh Snider The important thing to remember Steve, is that "none of the officers involved are responsible for the death of Mr. Gray." He ... just fell that way.

Larry Paulhus Gene Ryan is the same racist idiot who called those calling for the investigation of Police involved in this action a "Lynch Mob." He should immediately step down for being unfit to serve as President of FOP.

(62,325 posts)unconscionable denial of rights and brutality, murder, and wrongful treatment of the citizens of this country, as if they were the enemy.
I read that the police have killed over 5,000 Americans, mostly AAs since 9/11. So where is the protection of their government from these terrorists?
I was afraid that once the media left Ferguson it would, but thankfully it did not.
The Media should be now covering these thousands of murders not just covering the issue when the next young, African American man is murdered.
I have been following this for years, reading blogs that were trying to keep track of all the murders by cop, beatings, abuses etc and wondered WHY there was little of any media coverage of it. So sad that Michael Brown and Eric Garner and now Freddie Gray had to die before things got even this far ... those poor parents!
Anyhow, I am happy that we agree also ...

(17,199 posts)Soon the coverage in Baltimore will recede. We won't hear anything from the media about racism and police misconduct and brutality until the next incident.
But why wait for the next incident?
We know the problem is systemic, so let's start examining race relations and police policies and practices in every town and city in this country NOW.
That's my hope.

(28,364 posts)Sometimes I think that when prosecutors, elected officials (Mr. Mosby, NYC Mayor etc ), citizens, co-workers, witnesses or whistle blowers become fearful from direct or indirect threats by this organized group, maybe it's time the Feds employ RICO.
I know this is unrealistic.
But it just makes my heart ache.

The Baltimore police union president Wednesday drew outrage by comparing Freddie Gray protests to a "lynch mob" because they called for the officers involved to be jailed immediately.
