DU $ for Bernie on Act Blue is live UPDATE

Last edited Sat May 2, 2015, 05:00 PM - Edit history (3)

In 15 hours we are currently tied in 1st place by # of donors and second by the amount raised in way less time.

Bernie's campaign uses Act Blue too. This just keeps a total of $ donated by DUers.

All the donated $ to Bernie goes to Bernie except for the actual charge card fee by law: http://support.actblue.com/faq#q15

IF you give a tip it goes to Act Blue, the most successful Democratic $ raising PAC for their in house expenses like rent, payroll, IT, etc.

Tote board and donate here: https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/duforbernie

It takes a few minutes for the tote board to show your donation on the now live goal o meter just below.

don't give to Act Blue, because they take part of it
for other(not mentioned who) candidates. I will
discontinue my contributions and rather go directly
to Bernie's site.

Note the difference on the receipt for a multiple choice donation.

Your contribution:

Blue America PAC -- $5.00
Alan Grayson -- $10.00
Tip to ActBlue: $1.50
Total: $16.50

For the donation to start DU and check for bugs I might have made.

Your contribution from 01 May 2015

Reference #: xxxxxxx700
Bernie Sanders $10.00
Tip to ActBlue: $1.00
Total: $11.00

The DU for Bernie link only goes to Bernie PERIOD. Click Bernies contribute on his page and it goes to Act Blue! This just breaks out the amount DUers raised as a group through this link.

Where does my money go?

It goes directly to the candidate or cause you specify when you give. Campaigns and organizations use the fundraising software on our site to enable you to make your contribution. We act as the conduit for your contribution, passing the donation on. The cost of processing the contribution (mostly credit card fees), comes out of your contribution. We are legally required to charge that fee.

As a non-profit, tips are how we pay our bills. We don’t profit from the contributions going through our site. You can add your tip on the contribution form where you enter your credit card information.
