Well, not exactly. What they have convinced me of is that he will never accumulate anything like the war-chest to which a Hilary or maybe even a Webb would have access.
The one major thing Bernie has going for him is that most of the public already wants what he stands for. The challenge will be to make them realize it. Bernie is old & smart. He's not in this to fall on his face.
By nominating any of the conventional candidates, we would be pretty much ensuring a conventional campaign. A Bernie candidacy (beginning in the primaries, of course) would end up being very different.
That means Bernie can only win through a very unconventional campaign. It will be very interesting to see what form it takes.

(55,894 posts)if you think they're going to back Bernie, you are entitled to that hope.
But it's a very long shot.

(20,453 posts)It will take an unconventional campaign. I'd say we both look forward to that unfolding.
Also, I've paid off other bills and can contribute soon
like many others here are capable of, and just like all those folks who can change their independent status to register as a Democrat, because we can do that, too.
We can do lots of things for this primary to unfold. Non of it's going to be conventional, for sure. I think we've seen what conventional gets us.
