General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsAccording to the NBC News poll, Obama is the most popular politician of those mentioned...
He's got a +7 positive ranking - the only politician listed who actually has a net positive.
That includes Hillary Clinton, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker, Rand Paul, Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz.
Hillary breaks even.
Obama does have one of the higher negative numbers...but that's not a surprise that he, along with Hillary, are the most known of the mentioned. Still, after seven years of Republican slime, that's pretty impressive.

(59,507 posts)1) Things are more negative - in general - then they used to be at this stage.
2) It makes sense that the Republicans, who are split between many candidates have more negative numbers than HRC.
3) Obama's numbers have been improving this year.
The good news is that Obama is net positive and even generic Democrat should get that goodwill. As to HRC, I think that her numbers are outliers - though there is a continuing downward trend in her favorability. ( This is not all the difference between the point when she was SoS - as it continues to fall. http://pollingreport.com/hrc.htm There are several polling companies showing the same thing. )
That none of the Republicans are clicking is reflected in the fact that even as HRC's favorability continues to erode, her lead over Republicans has not eroded to a comparable extent.

(29,322 posts)based on national poll averages Ben Carson is the most popular politician and I don't even know a thing about him.

(29,322 posts)I think Obama averages a little over 50%. Rand Paul was about 45% (a month ago). Hillary Clinton was over 50 but under Obama a month ago but right now she is sitting at 47% unfavorable 46% favorable (average of the national polls). All the other Republicans score very low except for Paul Walker who was close to 50% himself (a month ago).
Odd that the numbers come in so low for everyone in this one.
