Bernie can win....

My very conservative brother in law who voted for Bush, McCain, and Romney supports Bernie Sanders. I never really understood why he voted the way he did, other than that's how people vote in rural PA. So when a guy like him gets behind a guy like Bernie Sanders, then I'm pretty sure Bernie has a real good shot as long as the Democratic party allows it. Which that I will find truly hard to believe.

That's what I'm doing here - trying to convert Republicans to Bernie...

Mainstream and disaffected Republicans will have a choice - a honest and authentic politician that understands the income inequality - he said 14 billionaires hold the the same amount of wealth as 130 million of other Americans.

as of now the media hasn't been able to paint Bernie in a negative light. So there's still a chance.

than any democratic president. The president isn't a king (or a queen) and can't just do anything he wants. He would be saddled with compromise, republican majorities in congress, moderate dems, etc. They simply won't go along with him. Also, the country is unfortunately center and slightly to the right, so if he did win and he somehow started to take the country onto a more progressive path than people are comfortable with, he would lose the presidency in 4 years.

But I do not believe Bernie Sanders can win the White House anyway for a variety of reasons. I like the man, but he is an issue candidate. He is there to bring the eventual nominee to the left and to be a voice for progressive issues. And that is an important role to play in any primary.

But thanks for the thoughtful analysis. I tend to agree with it. Although I'm surprised at the response I'm seeing from many conservatives.

only way he can be stopped is by some underhanded bullshit that the GOP cooks up. American people will vote for him I do believe.

the gop still have rove and he is about as crooked as they come. You can bet he is trying to come up with something. The deal with Karl rove is he has patience and thats what makes him so dangerous. If he came up with something he has the patience to hold on to it until it would do the most damage.
