Love this sign at a local store

The owner has a whiteboard he's always putting quotes on, often his own obervations and thoughts. I saw this (he laughed when I asked to write it down and post it) and had to share it with DU:

So we have a black man in the White House, and he's probably going to be there another four years.

Good grief. It is 2012, not the 1850's!

Seriously, you people need to just get over it.

But you probably won't.

Therefore, I have a bone to pick with you, since you want to engage in irrelevancies.

I didn't hear you people bitch when the Muppets put pigs in space.

Pigs in space? Really?

Unbelievable! Outrageous! Think of the implications!

The Muppets must be stopped before they destroy us all!

No more pigs in space, dammit!

Ahhh...gotta love it...!

He's risking loss of business or maybe even vandalism by posting political messages in his store. Good for him! He knows what's right and he's willing to go out on a limb to say it.

Guy will argue anything with anyone, without fear, but he's not arrogant or thinks he's alwars right. He's an older guy, very smart, mostly likable. I've heard him coaching an employee before, telling them he didn't give a shit about the money, to take care of the customer, which he does very well. Place is always busy, so I don't think he worries about it.

That quote I shared is actually very tame for him - he's had some real zingers about Fox news and politicians - come to think of it, I'm kind of surprised he hasn't been lynched, given where we live...

Red around here, all small towns, farms and coal mines...I'm from Oregon, so it was quite a transition for me...

I know that area. Lived there a short time when I was transferred there by a company I worked for.

Enjoyed the post. Thanks for taking the time to add this little slice of Americana to DU.
