(6,409 posts)The GF abuse was one guy, off the field, not playing or practicing, so it affects the reputation of the NFL, indirectly, but does not affect the outcome of the game. The limp footballs were a case of cheating in an actual game, and the incident involved several people, maybe the whole team. Two different things. I will agree that the act of punching out your girlfriend's lights is a worse thing than cheating in an NFL game. In fact, I don't care if all NFL players cheat in all NFL games, and I do care when some big, powerful guy coldcocks a woman. But I'm not the NFL, and what matters to me is not what matters to them. They are, after all, an organization made up of grown men who play a game for a living.
