The former Arkansas Governor may have finally done something too crazy for his base.
This morning, GOP presidential contender Mike Huckabee posted a lengthy Facebook status affirming his “support for the Duggar family,” saying that Josh Duggar – who confessed to molestation – is being attacked by “blood-thirsty media” and deserves “our support.”

This set off a surprising reaction among Huckabee's Facebook fans, with a chorus of his once-supportive Republican loyalists declaring that he had lost their vote over his words on the matter. Here are a few examples:

5. Just to keep the facts straight about Dumond....

He was convicted of raping a teenage girl when he was first sent to prison, before Huckabee got him out. But he had never killed anyone at that point, at least not that we know of.

He killed two women in Missouri after he was released, but I don't think he was accused of a sex crime.

A lot of the apologists are posting, "judge not lest you be judged" but this poster nailed their hypocrisy:

"All of you who are saying not to judge or cast the first stone... Are you aware that Josh Duggar worked for the Family Research Council -- the main goal of which is to deprive LGBT Americans of their rights?! And the mother attacked transgender people as potential child molesters waiting in bathrooms to prey on children?! When she knew her son sinned and hid it from everyone?! We have no proof that transgender people molest children. We have CONCRETE PROOF that Duggar's do... so tell me, who should have their rights revoked in this country?"

independent interviews by a professional with the young victims. How does he know
all is well for these children? How does he reconcile the fact there was no intervention
providing treatment for them, including the teen who molested them?

Is anyone going to talk about any of that???

What is the motivation here, is Duggar wealthy and a big contributor?

Huckabee compares gay marriage to drugs, incest, polygamy

Allowing gay marriage is comparable to allowing drug use, incest and polygamy, Mike Huckabee said in a recent interview with a college paper.

"You don’t go ahead and accommodate every behavioral pattern that is against the ideal,” he told a college paper at The College of New Jersey (h/t: First Read.)

"That would be like saying, well, there are a lot of people who like to use drugs, so let’s go ahead and accommodate those who want to use drugs. There are some people who believe in incest, so we should accommodate them. There are people who believe in polygamy, so we should accommodate them."
