Do not see DU paying much attention to the Duggars! And if they do, they have a right. Molestation is a huge friccking deal! Not to mention that he is against gay people, what a hypocrite!

I started hiding threads with any mention of their name this afternoon. I hide a bunch and a bunch more go up. It's like an obsession right now.

Some folks just have to beat the topic to death in order to get it out of their systems. I get that. So I just keep hiding threads. But it's pretty funny to say that DU isn't paying much attention to them. Do a search for their name on the home page of GD and see how many there are.

having known about Josh's actions for years and years. It is the Catholic Church scandal all over again, THEY are guilty so they run around attacking gay people with trashy sermons.
Show me where you went to the hate preachers and told them to cut it out. Your community seemed to enjoy watching Westboro Baptist attack us, the 'faith community' let them harass us for years on end.

And Josh Duggar did his anti gay work for Family Research Council, FRC was invited in November to join the Vatican's anti gay conference in Rome, Tony Perkins of FRC broadcast live from the event, Francis the Pope was Key Note Speaker, NOM was present, Rick Warren...

So obviously all of this stuff is closer to the mainstream than some care to hear. But you will be hearing about it.

Not only do I not defend or condone what he did, I condemn it. That doesn't mean that I need or have any desire to see dozens of threads reading the outrage of others. After awhile, everything just gets to be repetition, so I delete.

You obviously know nothing about me and I take that "Your community" shit as a personal insult.

4. I'm imune to these surges of copycat threads and beating a dead horse topics.

Sure it clutters up DU with boob tube topics, but they resonate with the older DUers who having grown up with TV are unable to break their one way consumption of "news" AKA TV programming.

Its better than the "did you just see Rachel" posts without bothering to even say what she mentioned.

Post some interesting stuff and these threads will fall off the page.

First bill O'Reilly gets exposed as a spousal abuser, then we find out the duggars are just as creepy as we always suspected they were.

Don't deny people the joy of seeing pompous judgmental right wing assholes ruined, just hide all the duggars threads if you don't want to read them.

So, it stands to reason people who care about such things are passionate about the topic.

It's not just about their show, you know.

No, I won't shut the fuck up.

11. The straight religious community should be kinder and less reckless if it does not want to
Mon May 25, 2015, 08:32 AM

hear criticism of straight religious people. The Duggars, and Josh in particular are political activists, anti gay and anti woman. Josh worked for Family Research Council and that ties him to most of the 'mainstream' religious community including the Vatican, Francis, Rick Warren, NOM, LDS and the Southern Baptists.

So no. Yet again you are not in charge of others and you have to learn to live with that.
