General Discussion

Us democrats have a chance to move ahead as long as we stay together and don't split like the repubs are fixing to do. The true conservatives want the repub party to go down their road while the new Libertarians want the party to go down another road. If we sit back and engage is realistic dialogues based on common sense the average middle class voter might side with us instead of the pack of crazies.
Go Bernie and Hillary

(6,896 posts)BIG difference, and that wont be on Scarborough in the morning.
does blowback concern you?
we need no more imperial militarism adventures.
and we desperately need accountability.
only one shot at that.

(19,877 posts)So they have a huge advantage in unity as opposed to here where half will not vote for the possible party nominee. Advantage: conservatives. Which is a shame since Repubs will be defending 26 senate seats and we have a huge opportunity to take back the senate.

How about John Anderson?
A great deal of uncertainty lurks in hindsight results.
simplicity will not be your friend in the end.

(33,224 posts)2008 was the most acrimonious nomination fight imaginable, between two nearly ideologically identical candidates.
Yet in the end the losers pulled the general election lever for the victor.
When the 2016 nominee faces off against Jeb Bush, Democrats will all vote for our nominee - I don't care what they say.
Between now and my state's caucus, there's no reason to settle.
Go Bernie.

(764 posts)They know it is not productive to criticize their own, they attack the dems but each other not so much. Wonder if the repub campaign managers are counting on the far left to drag Hillary through the mud better than they can? We are killing each other. Maybe instead of dragging up a vote Hillary did based on bad information or Bernies far left votes we should be shining the spot light on the repub clown car.

(115,280 posts)and will most likely support that candidate in the primary, but I'm not going to trash the other one. There's no point in tearing down someone who could be the nominee, nor is there any reason to tear down the people who support them. However, given the vitriol that primaries unfortunately seem to inspire, I'm not going to attach the avatar of my preferred candidate to my posts, either, because I don't want whatever I have to say to be pre-judged by some of the extreme partisans around here who might be inclined to base their opinion of my opinion on nothing more than my expressed support for one or the other. I'm just glad all of the Democratic declared candidates are sane and qualified, which is more than can be said for the multitudinous passengers in the GOP clown car.

(31,493 posts)Of course posting an OP that attacks hair, dress, voice, or any personal attributes is not cool. If past decisions and associations make someone look bad politically ...tough shit.
