Since Marriage Equality is now a plank of the Democratic Platform, will we see

during the campaign, proposals to repeal DOMA?

Will we see efforts for a Marriage Equality Amendment?

What actions will come with this position?

We obviously can't leave it to the states.

1. There is a proposal to repeal DOMA.

It's called the Respect for Marriage Act (HR 1116 and S 598).

And Obama has pushed for the repeal of DOMA before. It's basically useless do it during the time of the House we have now. Nothing he pushes will get through. And unfortunately I don't see using the public to get this change in place will be worth it. Too many Dems are not in support of LGBT rights. What we need is a progressive congress who is willing to work with the President to get this done.

Without progressive thinking people we got nothing. Without Republican who support marriage equality or even all our Dems supporting marriae equality nothing really is going to happen here. This one will be a tough one to sell but I think there is enough of language people can use to sway some thinkers.

Get people to look at their significant others and ask them truly, can they deny anyone the love of some one even if it's the same sex. Why is the government in the bedroom of gays and lesbians or transgenders if we want smaller government? I think we need more of people thinking like that in our congress to get things done. I don't really trust the American people on this.

I had forgotten about it. Hopefully, we will make gains this fall and this will be revived.

All those things on your wish list are legislative actions...requiring a majority in the House AND Senate. This surely won't happen if the rushpublican retain control of the House or continue to play games in the Senate. The President's affirmation of marriage equality is a big step but its up to the legislative to do the heavy lifting.

not "Democratic and Progressive." Electing Blue Dogs is a self-defeating proposition.

In 2016 we need a full-court press to primary every remaining Blue Dog and kick them the hell out of the House and Senate.
