I will never understand why we didn't try to co-opt Fidel or Ho, the latter of whom embraced our Declaration Of Independence. We are tacit allies with Viet Nam now as they see us as a bulwark against China.

Ho Chi Minh wanted an independent Vietnam. The USA wanted a Vietnam firmly under American control. The Vietnam America wanted existed in the South with its rampant corruption and military regimes, whereas the Vietnam the average Vietnamese wanted existed in the North.

Likewise Castro wanted an independent Cuba. He was willing to work with the USA, but the USA said no. Castro either had to give up the economic changes he promised to Cubans, or incur a fallout in US-Cuban relations. He chose the latter.

Part of that was to portray Communism as out and out EVIL, like something from SATAN.

All that talk of responsibility to your fellow man and greed being a "bad" thing was too "Jesus" for the rich so they twisted it around.

I think many of them have been quite remarkable, especially given the Congress he's had to deal with. I believe he will be remembered as one of our great Presidents.

I believe that after his second term, we'll begin to see people recognizing those accomplishments, even those who have attacked him during his presidency. I hope so, anyhow.

Absolutely great. With a win in 2016, we can build of this momentum. All of our current candidates would continue to move forward with positive results.

All of the Democratic candidates for President will help to carry the progress made during Obama's presidency into the future and expand on it. I'll be proud to cast my vote for the Democratic nominee in 2016.

The US has actually committed more terrorism AGAINST Cuba than they have ever done to us.

When I visited a friend in Zurich during the early 1980s, I visited a couple of tobacco stores and asked, Bitte, haben sie cigarren aus cuba? The answer was Jawohl. Naturlich!, and I was shown the store's selection.

I got the impression that the Swiss tobacco shop owners were used to that question from many Amerikaner.

If memory serves me right, it was the Cubana aircraft that was bombed by Gerald Ford and Poppy Bush's CIA in 1976.
