1. I would guess its because a couple of people see the feed at the same time it is released.

Three or four DUers see it and decide to post. LBN has moderators who lock duplicate threads, but they're allowed in GD.

Check the forum names for the repeated posts to see if they differ. In my settings, the "Latest Threads" page will show all posts in the major forums, regardless if they have been cross-posted.
