teen girl ran more than a mile to escape raging grandma

— A Memphis grandmother was locked up after she was charged with brutally beating her granddaughter who ran more than a mile to get help from other relatives.

However it didn’t end there.

Police said when they were taking a report from the victim, 62-year-old Willie Sharp showed up at the relative’s house and tried to attack her granddaughter again.

“I said ‘what are you doing walking around in this heat?’ She says ‘I’m running from my grandma’,” said Jereldean Carter.

----

Shortly after officers arrived Sharp showed up at Carter’s house.

According to police she tried to attack her granddaughter and said, “I’m going to smack the sh** out of you!”

“The police pulled her back and she was trying to fight the police,” explained Carter.

But when her grandma was a girl, beating a child was considered normal and appropriate.

Not any more.

I'm glad she's safe now.
