(28,749 posts)The Chief Justice has the principal dissent, which is 31 pages long. Toward the end of it, he says, "If you are among the many Americans--of whatever sexual orientation--who favor expanding same-sex marriage, by all means celebrate today's decision. Celebrate the achievement of a desired goal. Celebrate the opportunity for a new expression of commitment to a partner. Celebrate the availability of new benefits. But do not Celebrate the Constitution. It had nothing to do with it." - See more at: http://live.scotusblog.com/Event/Live_blog_of_opinions__June_26_2015#sthash.d6kJTUge.dpuf

(1,587 posts)I'm just weeping tears of joy. I honestly never thought I would live to see the day we elected a black president, nor see equal protection for same-sex marriage.
Now I want a woman president (just not Hillary), an end to wars, and the removal of corporations in our government. That will do for a start.
