I'm sorry, but you basically said nothing here, Jeb, except bashing so-called liberals. What liberals don't like about the companies calling themselves part of the sharing economy is the way they treat their "partners"--as independent contractors rather than employees. That is the problem, not their innovative business concepts. Not everyone wants to be an independent contractor; that isn't the way most people want to approach their work lives, and they shouldn't have to. But if those are the only jobs available, they are forced into it. So please stop saying that liberals don't like innovation. That isn't the issue at all. And like others, I'm not at all happy that LinkedIn is now being used for political messaging.

I only voted for Bush because he was the less of two evils. Reagan was the last good man to run for office. After Reagan we have been offered crap to vote on. Jeb Bush is less than crap and will be more evil than obama. He has the same ties to islam."

Mr. Bush uses Thumbtack as a positive example of "...helping small businesses compete for work...." I'm a freelance photographer and use Thumbtack and similar online marketplaces in an attempt to increase revenue. But what I have found with such sites is that it is a race to the bottom. It certainly doesn't benefit established small businesses. These sites attract people looking for cheap labor, not quality work. This site does nothing to help me compete for work. It benefits the consumer by pitting very experienced contractors who know what they need to charge to meet overhead and make a profit with inexperienced competitors who have no idea what they need to charge but are willing to charge the lowest price possible in order to get the work (at their inevitable peril). Not only that, but the contractor has to pay a percentage each time they bid on a job, and that amount adds up each time a contractor bids on a job but does not get it (which is very often if you quote what you know your work is worth). It eats into the slim profit margin generated from this type of work. If Mr. Bush wants to cite a positive example of what he will do to benefit small business, he used the wrong example.

As an "Editor's Pick" this is a stone cold failure. Where's the dislike button? If I read the comments correctly, (and I didn't read the article past the first paragraph) the majority here do not want to see political diatribe and false prophets on Linkedin. The morass of government rules, regulations and big corporate welfare are far more threatening to business innovation and disruption than ANY other factor.
