Danville, VA-- Danville's new flag ordinance was created to ban the Confederate flag from flying on city-owned flag poles, but it has brought other flags down too.
The morning after the ordinance went into effect, the city removed nine international flags flying on Bridge Street. The flags were raised in 2013 to honor the foreign companies represented in Danville.
The city PIO said the flags were placed by Dimon International, but the Industrial Development took ownership of the company's buildings. He said it's unclear who owns the flag poles now, but the city is looking at possible solutions to get them flying again.

(14,449 posts)Really only a state flag and American flag should be the only flags allowed on state or federal property. If you want other flags, put it on your own property. This is an outstanding ruling. Finally places are smartening up.
