Do y'all think the GOP will dogpile Trump and take him down?

Look, we all know Trump cannot be president on a businessman's model. Everything he talks about is how he strong armed someone in a business deal, how he'll somehow have carte blanch with the rest of the world to business bully his way through all foreign trade and business negotiations. We know they're not discreet at that level and are hand in hand with military, human rights, regulatory issues, and so forth.

I happened to hear an interview with John Huntsman the other day in which he mentioned that not only was he on the board of Volkswagen in Mexico but was Ambassador to China, and that Trump has absolutely no idea what dealing with those governments is like. I got to thinking that it is well within the ability of those in the GOP who can NOT to undercut Trump. I didn't think they could want anybody less than they want Obama but Now I wonder.

Thoughts?

The base will fight for him till the bitter end. The power brokers have been trying to take him down for quite some time now.

I am relatively sure there's no there there anyway but unless I am completely ignorant Trump isn't experienced at the workings either within or between the assorted governmental bodies.

They are still hoping he makes a large enough gaffe, or that Faux can manufacture one, that will sink him in the polls. They've tried, but nothing has stuck.

As for your assessment of Trump, do you think any of the other repug candidates is any more prepared to deal with foreign governments? jeb!? wanker? failurina? seacruise?

If enough of the repug base comes to feel Trump can win in 2016, he'll get the nomination.

7. Trump Might Have Led With His Chin At Today's Press Conference....

watch for a BLM type protest (and I don't mean the BLM itself - it could be any group of protesters -I used BLM as an example) to disrupt one of his appearances to take him up on how he would handle it differently than Bernie did. He talked about fighting protesters off.

If he fights them off - he'll be criticized and maybe sued for getting into an altercation with them. If he backs down - he'll be criticized.

If you ask me - anyone that either wants to make a name for themselves or settle with Trump for a tidy sum of money after he hits at them - has an opportunity here that actually was invited by Trump himself.

But if he becomes enough of a threat that could happen. In my dreams.

or would protest a Trump event. Hell - Trump has probably enough different groups - that would, should or could launch a protest against him. I only used BLM as an example because they have been in the news as of late and that is what he commented on at his news conference today - Bernie's encounter with them and how he handled it.

Good luck with that, Donald.

At the right time and in the right venue, they'll pull out the pictures of Donald fucking a chicken in his Rolls Royce and it will be all over.

For now, he's keeping the limelight away from the more low-key misogynistic, xenophobic, seditionist twerps.

the people supporting him are not rational. Most will continue to support him no matter how irrational it is to do so.

It looks like his ceiling is ~30% but his basement is ~20%. I think he will be in it until there are only 3-4 candidates left. If I am right and he can hold on to 20% or more of the GOP primary electorate, he can't be forced out until next spring.

but the problem is that Republican primaries are almost winner take all.

If he can Hold his numbers....he may be hard to beat....If Cruz can put
him over the top I see him as the VP nominee.

He can coast along on the "pissed off 20%" and no one can really "knock him out". With so many in the race any of them would die for half of that. But come the primaries, as people start to die off, there will be a few left standing and pretty soon that 20% means coming in 3rd. Pretty soon they can call him the "loser".

The first debate was an attempted assassination by Fox News and it failed. I think the Republicans are currently digesting the fact that a very sizable portion of their base is wedded to bullshit and bluster. I don't think any of the other candidates expect Trump to be the leader when the field gets whittled down, but they also don't want to alienate the insane faction of the Republican Party by being seen as the one doing the dirty deed. The complicit media will continue to fight a proxy war on behalf of the Republican establishment and their owners, er, donors.
