hey scott, there is NO conservative alternative.......and you KNOW THAT.
Walker is expected to say that, if elected, he would submit legislation to Congress seeking to repeal the federal Affordable Care Act and replace it with his sweeping package of conservative priorities.
"On my first day as President, I will send legislation to the Congress that will repeal Obamacare entirely and replace it in a way that puts patients and their families back in charge of their health care -- not the federal government. I call it the Day One Patient Freedom Plan," Walker will say, according to an excerpt from his speech provided by the campaign.
The Walker proposal, the first major policy rollout from his campaign, calls for "capped allotments" to states for some parts of Medicaid while allowing acute care payments to continue uncapped.

(22,974 posts)That's worked so well in the past.
Of course, that's probably OK with the comfortable utopians here on DU because they are so disenthralled with the ACA.

(34,661 posts)Old Sick White Guys are pissed at Obama for taking their so called Heritage Foundation National Health Care Plan and with a few tweeks, slapping them in the face by passing it through a very monied special interest driven Congress. Stop and think just how important this is in Political History. If the next President is some what progressive,we will see a major attempt at single payer National Health. Key appears to be major consolidation of Health Insurance Companies,in that, the Big Money is betting on some big changes. Notice how the Republicans keep running the Red Herring of Obama Care Repeal up the flag pole and failing some fifty plus times, appears the real decision makers within their Party are having heart burn with these backward ideas, and know full well it will not fly with there so called average voter. Obama Care is by know means the answer,it has help some 16-20 million folks finally get some type of Health Care in states which barriers have been in place to tamp down care for the Pauper Class. Keep the faith,we will see Single Payer soon.
