Former reality TV star Rachel Campos-Duffy asserted on Tuesday that conservatives had happier and longer marriages because liberal women refused to make sandwiches for their husbands.
A recently released study from professors at the University of Virginia and University of Utah found that Republican couples were more likely to say they were happy with their marriage. On Tuesdays edition of Outnumbered, Campos-Duffy, who has seven children and is married to Republican Rep. Sean Duffy, argued that the religion was more important than politics when it came to a successful marriage.
I think more Republicans tend to be religious people, she explained. And I know for myself and I know in the Greek Orthodox Church its the same idea of sanctification, that marriage is a sacrament, its a holy thing. And my job being married is to get my husband and my kids to heaven with me. And I think that changes the whole perspective. Campos-Duffy added: And it shows they are more likely to get divorced because they wont make that sandwich
Make the sandwich, darn it.
Co-host Andrea Tantaros reminded viewers that she had been mocked by liberals and feminists because she recently advised women to make men sandwiches after sex to keep them happy. I support this, she told her co-hosts. Its not transporting women back to the 1950s, its just kindness. Then I get crucified by feminists, mostly we know coming from liberal blogs, Tantaros continued. And I just thought, Whats the alternative? I mean, ladies, if you want to fight with me all day and be against the side of kindness and respect for the one that you love, thats a fight Ill have all day long.

20 years so far.
If I don't get that sandwich soon we are doomed.
But then I married her for her brains. So maybe we will survive.

(1,508 posts)There's nothing with someone who wants to do these things. It's what works for some people. No one should be forced to do them. For other people the opposite works. For still others a completely equal division of things works.
You do what works for you. Everyone is different.

(82,849 posts)Would those highly-touted conservative marriages include the marriages of Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat? If Mrs. Courser wasn't making her Toddy a sandwich after intercourse, is it okay - or at least understandable - that he hooked up with Mrs. Gamrat? Perhaps Fox should have them on a show and ask them about their post-coital prandial preferences?

(18,497 posts)They do not have better marriages.
They are even pressured to stay in abusive marriages.
A life long marriage is by no means a successful one.
It may just mean two people were miserable heir entire adult lives.

After good sex I want to lie there and zone out, not eat a sandwich.
