Anyone with a Mac -- If you have guest account enabled, disable it until Apple sends an update to OS

The 0 day trojan can only affect the computer if it can log in. If you have guest enabled, then if it finds your ip address it already knows the login "guest".

Macs don't get viruses, doncha know? hobbit709 Aug 2015 #2
Not a virus, it is a trojan. The ass that found it decided to publish it without LiberalArkie Aug 2015 #6
The difference is that a trojan doesn't replicate itself. Malware is still malware. hobbit709 Aug 2015 #7

Unlock the dialog window using your administrator password, and turn "Guest User" off in the Login Options window. I figured it out in two minutes. Easy.

Thanks for the update, LiberalArkie.

Select Users & Groups

If you have Guest enabled just uncheck "Allow guests to log into this computer"

If the section is locked, you may need to put in the admin password when you click the lock symbol

and that is how they found that it could enter via guest account. Still early in the game to know much about it I guess. But they said it had to get in with an account so it could make itself Root. El Capitan is not affected as it is rootless.
