(3,447 posts)...it's broken by definition, but I guess some people do still watch cable.
(Funny pic, and seems to be true from everything I've heard (sadly (don't you love nested parentheses?!?)))

(27,315 posts)Frankly, if they gave the rest of the field 1/10th of the attention they give him, may be the polls would tell us something different (not that I like any of the GOP field, but some of them are more frightening than others).
When does somebody start calling out the media for their in kind contribution to the Trump campaign?

(23,946 posts)If you gave my pet gerbil the attention the media is giving this fool, little Mr. Mango would also have 25% of the GOP vote!
Mr. Mango also has an immigration plan he deposited on old newspaper.

(8,812 posts)Their responsibility isn't to provide meaningful information.
It's to make a profit.
It's disturbingly simple: They will only provide "meaningful information" on their own terms and when they deem it profitable to do so.
Rather than beating your head against the wall, look to media sources that are truly viewer or listener supported.
And no, that definitely doesn't include PBS or NPR, which are beholden to "corporate underwriting" -- otherwise known as ads.
To keep tuning in with the expectation that things will change comes perilously close to the popular definition of insanity.

(45,319 posts)'Show Me a Hero' on HBO. It's written by David Simon of 'The Wire' and directed by Paul Haggis of 'Crash' and it's about the fight to build public housing in white neighborhoods of Yonkers NY in 1987. It's pretty good stuff. But DU sez TV is bad, bad, bad because DU seems to only watch commentary shows it calls 'the news'.

Makes you long for vast quantities of Kim Kardashian's butt.
