Elizabeth Warren refuses to commit to 2018 Senate run

It’s “too early” to commit to another term in the Senate, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren told a Boston television station in an interview aired Sunday.

Asked by WBZ-TV’s Jon Keller whether she would promise to seeking another term by running in 2018, the liberal firebrand senator said it is “too early to talk about that.”

Maybe she has decided that being a Senator is not what she had hoped it would be.

Just doing the current job she was elected for his plenty.

We are moving to a culture where there is absolutely no time that is not political campaign season. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that not long after we know for certain who the Republican and the Democratic nominees are going to be, there will be plenty of serious speculation here and elsewhere about who will be running in 2020. Well ahead of November 8.

If either Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders (or for that matter Joe Biden) is elected, lots of people will speculate that because of age, that President will only serve one term. Especially if Bernie. Depending on who the VP is, talk will initially center around that person, and then people will put forth their personal dream candidates. Meanwhile, the Republican field will still be considered wide open.

If the Republican wins, there will be horrific infighting here about why we lost, and lots of people will sulk and say it's because the wrong person got nominated in the first place. Initially it will be assumed that our candidate will run again, but I'll predict that our nominee won't run in 2020, and for about 18 months speculation will be all over the place, and in early 2018 at the very latest, we'll be back to fighting here between two or three (maybe more) camps, each supporting a favorite.

However, I will also go out on another limb and say that by November 4, 2020, the day after that year's election, campaigns for 2024 will pretty much be up and running.

I'm not looking forward to it, and I hope I'm wrong.
