(16,286 posts)She needs to be dealt with in such a way that the shame and the FINANCIAL cost to her will make other children in adult bodies think twice before acting like a child.
Is there ANY legal way to get to HER financially?
Any lawyers here?

(25,932 posts)KY has 120 counties - more than any state other than TX, which has the sheer size and population to justify so many counties. KY has some counties with fewer than 10,000 residents. It creates lots of opportunities for elected officials to treat their counties like their personal fiefdoms.

(61,599 posts)I'm not sure that the impact of this will be what the bible thumpers hope. Editorials and comments in the Lexington, KY paper are overwhelmingly opposed to this clerk's grandstanding.
The message from the people in her own state is - "Do your job."

(26,326 posts)Civil rights violations means she is working without an immunity net.
DUer jberryhill (an attorney) published an OP on the subject. In short, she is fucked. And they can get attorney fees and punitive damages.
This is why I think she should be locked up. Others say not to make her a gofundme martyr in jail. I say it would be beyond delicious to seize all those dumbfuck-donations to pay the punitive damages and ACLU attorney fees.
"1983" civil rights suits allow for attorney fees to be paid by the defendant.

(26,326 posts)I'm wondering how long it would take to garnish the account if the suit is merely pending. At the very least, I would hope the judge could lock up the funds if she is under an active contempt ruling and fines are piling up.
Nothing would be sweeter than to see mouth breathing bigots pay directly to her fines and plaintiff attorney fees and punitive damages.

(16,286 posts)to be shamed and in a big way.
I was listening to "choice" advocates of a new organization who said it is time for Gay people to stop apologizing for being Gay, for Women to stop apologizing for wanting to make decisions over their own bodies, etc.
I myself used to refer to abortion as something nobody wants but is necessary.
I was wrong, nobody wants or not wants a broken leg to be set and fixed by a surgeon, it is a no brainer. You dont ask yourself is this a good or bad thing to do.

(53,955 posts)...there are those who will make our victory sour and will keep us tied up in the courts for years. G-d help us if the Republicans get back in power. It won't be a matter of us going under the bus, but rather being dragged by it!
