Hating our "government"

I realize the word "government" incorporates many facets and details but that's not mentioned by the haters.

What I find so fascinating are people who have derived their very existence and retirement from the public sector (the government) such as military, police, city workers, etc.and now rail against government.
They scream out against socialism yet many have little if any private sector job experience.

The brain washing runs deep.

1. Hating the government is, at least in principle, hating ourselves. Because democracy.

Yeah, I realize democracy has been almost completely hijacked by the oligarchs...but that's a reason to despise (and destroy) those who have commandeered the system, not despise the system itself.

2. The US military is the most socialistic of all parts of society.

Cradle to grave health care, paid housing, food, and transportation, education costs reimbursed, dependent's allowances, (for officers) moving expenses covered including gov't purchase of a house, generous 20 year retirement, burial expenses. It goes on, and on . . . but, most think socialism is a remnant of the Soviet Union.

Both my military son in laws now receive a lifetime monthly disability check.
I do not begrudge them but I do cringe when they bad mouth the hand that feeds them.

Health care when available (and often not available), paid housing when available and a small housing allowance when not available (never had housing costs less than the housing allowance). Food is an allowance paid when you don't consume rations. If you are in a combat zone and they are feeding you, the food allowance goes away. Not sure what it is now, but government civilians used to get 21 cents a mile for driving their own car and the military got seven cents. Education costs are only reimbursed for those selected for graduate study. Others pay their own way with 75% govt assistance with tuition (buy your own textbooks). There are no special dependents allowances for officers. You go in the hole with every move. You get one months quarters allowance as "dislocation allowance" and free pickup, destruction and loss, and delivery of the bits and pieces of your furniture (we used to say that three moves was the same as a fire). Buying a house or deposit, first, and last for renting are on you plus the costs to break the lease if you are forced to move into govt quarters. Generous retirement at twenty years IF they don't shit can you first (shot at and missed, shit at and hit). Every time the army gets cut, they just throw people out on the street. Yes they will bury you in a govt cemetery with a free flag and tombstone. Commissaries overseas often resemble the Soviet govt stores with long lasting shortages of key items.

Maybe ex-military are against socialism because they have seen it up front and close.

""Maybe ex-military are against socialism because they have seen it up front and close.""

It is because the management of the social contract has been corrupted by the managers. Such managers are capitalist pigs who usurp the system for their personal benefits.

Bernie will turn that around and begin the process of making sure the managers manage in a way that benefits everyone equally.

I don't "get" how so many people whom purport to hate government actually campaign TO BE IN government. One might think that if they hate it so much, then why would they want to be part of it? I stay quite far away from things I claim to hate/dislike. Or is it just a "I hate things unless they run MY WAY" sort of thing?

7. The oligarchy doesn't want The People embracing and engaging in their own government

A functional representative democracy makes it much more difficult for them to exert control for their own benefit, so they employ their corporate media to alienate The People from their own government.

The fascists own the culture and the language of the culture currently. Most everything in our society is designed to propagate hate and self serving goals of fascism.

Career military, county extension office, county public office, and state wide office for lobbying group representing that office. And yet they are convinced government is evil.
