Let's Hope U.S. District Judge David Bunning Puts Kim Davis in Jail for Contempt of Court

On Thursday.

Until she either agrees to do her job or resigns. I wish she had to go before the judge tomorrow for the sake of those who want to get marriage licenses.

This country is dominated by the rule of law. Religion does not exempt anyone from that.

How long before she puts up a GoFundMe page and gets the money to pay those fines? EEO Sep 2015 #5
Fine (pardon the pun). That's less money to be donated to conservative candiates. arcane1 Sep 2015 #11

Give her an ankle bracelet and house arrest and assess all fines as liens against her house.

which is why I suggested liens against her home rather than fines.

She is being represented by the ironically named Liberty Counsel pro bono. They have access to large cash reserves and donors.

I'd rather that, than give them a martyr.

That's the problem. If she were just a regular employee she probably would have been sacked weeks ago, but as it is she can keep collecting her (government) salary unless/until the Legislature votes to remove her.

by the wingnut fundies. If she's in jail they'd talk about her as if she were a wrongfully persecuted political prisoner like Nelson Mandela or Gandhi or Solzhenitsyn. If she's fined, the nutters will certainly raise the money for her, but at least they won't have an excuse to demonstrate outside the jail.

And bigots will line up to give her more money.

Not a good sign in this case.

Turns out every one of the current sitting judges in that district was also appointed by GWB.

Every order thus far has been correct and been affirmed by the 6th Circuit and the Supreme Court.

He has now approved the motion for an order to show cause why she should not be held in contempt.

Why on earth would you think he would change his mind at this point?

She's breaking the law, she should be in jail. And heavily fined. And removed from her position. This will send the message to others that they can't get away with breaking the law, that they will personally do hard time and spend money they don't have.

Let these fools send her money. Every penny they send will be food taken from their own children's mouths, to support an adulteress and a breaker of man's law and more importantly, God's law.

And if they want God's law to rule over us, then stone her to death for her sins.
