That Jeb is going to come out of this looking "progressive" or at least "comfortably centrist" in the eyes of the stupid?

They want Jeb vs Hillary, or Romney vs Hillary, or any "centrist Republican" vs "centrist Democrat", and they most likely will get it. After all, in recent history they always have. In the vast purple space where Hillary brags about "crossing the aisle" in order to "get things done" Jeb or Mitt and other "centrists" are her natural made-in-corporate-heaven opposites. The game is to make them all appear comforting, with small differences so voters will think there's a choice (tho' regardless of outcome, the Clinton and Bush families will remain fast friends).

When these guys "cross the aisle" to get a "bipartisan deal" and prove that they can "get things done" they aren't actually giving a flying fuck about the platform they campaigned on. They're serving big money pure and simple - and "The Donald" will never be a part of that, he's just there to generate excitement for the national enquirer crowd, the "base".
