Confederate Park Name Changed to Civil War Park (VA)

FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va (WVIR) - On Wednesday evening supervisors decided to change the name of Confederate Park to Civil War Park.
"That way, we can tell the whole story. We can tell the confederacy story, we can do the end of the Civil War, we can do the Emancipation Proclamation. I think this is a wonderful step for Fluvanna," said Mozell Booker Chair of Fluvanna Supervisors.
The Board plans to put up new memorials in the park honoring the Emancipation Proclamation. Booker said the change is appropriate especially within the bicentennial anniversary ...
