Trump's 24/7 campaign ad

Other candidates’ campaign events barely get noticed, but Trump calls repeated “press conferences” and cameras swarm.

Is the media being played, or are they openly campaigning against the eventual Democratic nominee?

the MSM figures Trump's a celebrity, draws viewers, pumps ratings, so they cover him relentlessly.
my impression is that the GOP leadership isn't too happy about this either.

Trump gives the M$M SOMETHING to talk about besides issues voters care about,
then on the "Democratic side" of primary coverage, it's all about Clinton's emails.

The too-few/too-late DNC debate schedule only makes this worse, because even though
it may in some ways help Hillary keep her lead in the polls, it also keeps issues voters
really care about OFF the airwaves, not to mention severely limiting coverage of Dem
candidates in general.
