The Strategic Victory over Kim Davis....

Putting Kim Davis in jail for her defiance of the court and the rule of law could have been a mistake. She could have become a "martyr for the cause". And simply fining her would not have been a deterrent - she would have still been able to carry on her defiance .

But the judge made a strategic move. By rounding up the other clerks and letting them know they would face the same, by ensuring that there was a significant number that would issue licenses, he nutered her effort.

Since the licenses are being issued the drama of conflict has been eliminated and people will simply lose interest in her and her disposition. The end. Victory!

Even for someone as dense as she is the message is clear - she is now irrelevant tularetom Sep 2015 #1

Those licenses are going to be issued with or without her. She's going to rot in jail until she agrees to obey the law and if she reneges on that agreement - back in the slam.

She'll be yesterdays news in a matter of a couple weeks, if not sooner.

.... but it could happen. However, this is a case of voters just punching the button for the name they are familiar with. It's really just a job and the voters would probably just have someone who will do the job without a lot of drama . So someone might see an opportunity to displace her and take over the sinecure.

There are some "real" dems down there and some of them might have just pushed the button for her because there was a "D" after her name.

Now that she's "outed" herself, it might not be so easy.
