This video showing Shaolin monk Shi Liliang 125 meter run across water, supported only by thin plywood boards, has been doing the rounds on the Internet in recent days, clocking up more than 3 million views on YouTube.
And yes, contrary to what many headline suggested, he didnt really run across water unsupported for 125 meters. Clickbaity headlines aside, this remains quite an achievement. The balance and strength needed to achieve this are tremendous, and its taken years of training and dedication for the monk to get this far.
Shi has been in training for 10 years, taking five attempts to break his previous record of 118 meters. His initial record, set six years ago, was 15 meters.

(45,251 posts)returning to the Middle East to begin his ministry. The walking on the water skill tends to support that.
There's also a theory that he came to America before beginning his ministry, kind of an American Exceptionalism version of the NT, I guess.

No, but seriously. Ten years of training. I am very impressed; to even imagine such a thing is possible even using the little plywood strips is just awe-inspiring. It often makes me wonder where those kinds of ideas come from. "Hrmm....after I am finished training, I think I will run across the water. Yes, this sounds like a good idea."
