The Surge is back!

No, nothing military, Surge soda is back on some shelves!

Surge soda returns from 12-year hiatus

NEW YORK – Coca-Cola hopes to see a surge in soda sales, with the return of a discontinued drink.

SURGE soda is back after a 12-year hiatus. The citrus-flavored beverage was popular in the 90s, but Coke phased it out.

Fans went crazy when Coke began selling the drink again exclusively through Amazon last year. Surge enthusiasts bought out the online supply on the first day, despite the $14 price tag for a 12-pack of 16 ounce cans.

A Surge website shows the drink is now for sale in the Midwest, the upper Great Plain, southern states and a few eastern states. Only three locations are listed in Wisconsin: Gnome Games in Green Bay, which tells Action 2 News they’ve carried it at both of their stores for a few months now; Chimera Hobby Shop on West Wisconsin Ave. in Appleton; and Game Quest in River Falls, on the Minnesota state line.
