(2,586 posts)first to get permission to play that music. I remember Jerry Rivera (spanish artist) got pissed off when Shakira "ripped off" a piece of his music. He calmed down after finding out his label gave her permission to use it. Maybe the same thing happens with the GOP. I haven't seen an artist sucessfully sue a GOP candidate over their use of a song in court.

(16,167 posts)with a certain amount of bars of music used. That is why you'll hear rightwing radio jocks do lead ins and then the music fades.
I'm not certain how much they are allowed to use under that regulation though, and, of course, I may be wrong.(apologies to Billy Joel)
