Sheriff's office is reporting that this is a hoax started by a white supremacist group.

As many of you know - there has been a post on a public forum claiming that the black panthers will be targeting schools in South Carolina on the anniversary of 9/11. State and federal authorities began an investigation into this post on Sept. 8th and have been able establish that the post was generated and is being spread by a white supremacist group. Authorities alerted law enforcement statewide today that they do not consider this to be a credible threat. However, as we are trained to do - we prepare. The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office and I are responsible for the safety of our schools and our students and we take that responsibility seriously. Measures have already been taken and plans have already been established. All other law enforcement agencies in the county are prepared as well. This is something we have done, not because of this threat, but because of any and all threats. Please remember: this groups sole intent was to establish fear. However, you have the right as a parent if you so desire to keep your children out of school tomorrow.
