Dim Son was also a bully. Conservatives like that kind of "authority."
Mr. Trump attended the New York Military Academy after years of rowdy and rebellious behavior at Kew-Forest, a more traditional prep school in Queens. Mr. Trump once recalled giving a teacher at Kew-Forest a black eye because I didnt think he knew anything about music.
A man known as "Il Duce":
Born on July 29, 1883, Mussolini gained a reputation for bullying and fighting during his childhood. At age 10 he was expelled from a religious boarding school for stabbing a classmate in the hand, and another stabbing incident took place at his next school.
It doesn't prove anything, of course. But still ...

(4,452 posts)I do think it can be easily proven that most people don't change their personality or world view unless they have to deal with a severe emotional event. Most people born to power or wealth can very easily sidestep dealing with those situations.
I don't mind being poor and often feel it gives me a more fulfilling and healthy outlook on life. I watched my ex go from the most wonderful person to an entitled demanding tyrant. It may have taken about 30 years but I can attribute it to a position of wealth and authority distorting her view of the world and her place in it.

(2,382 posts)... with an acquaintance whose politics are somewhere to the right of Attila the Hun. When he shut up long enough for me to get a word in edgewise, I said, "So, you're telling me you're a corporatist."
He laughed and said, "You're damned right I am!"
I smiled and replied, "You know, "Corporatism" is what Benito Mussolini preferred to call his form of government." It took a few seconds for him to catch up.
My acquaintance was not amused. But I was!

(6,891 posts)civilization faces is not that there are people like Trump in America. There are people like him everywhere, and they are always with us. The question any generation of civilized people must face is always: How many of them are there, and how well organized are they?

(1,074 posts)I've said this a few times on here before, but I swear if you asked a large # of random people if they had ever been a bully in middle or high school, and then ask those that raised their hand to step to one side of the room, and then ask all those people, what their party affiliation is, what do you bet that all those that had been bullies when they were in their teens, are now Republicans! I wish someone would do this experiment.

Trump got away with it strictly due to money and status. If it was anyone but him he would dismiss them as a loser who needed to rot in prison.
