Simi Valley is an appropriate location for the candidates of the white bigot party to hold their debate.
Its the home of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. I cant imagine whats in that library other than the thousands of 3 x 5 cards from which he read all of his offhand remarks. The man was an amiable imbecile who was the tool of those around him.
And lets not forget that its where the four officers who beat Rodney King were tried. Back then, the video was televised worldwide and there was no doubt as to the viciousness, brutality and lawlessness of those officers. But their trial was moved from Los Angeles to the very conservative Simi Valley. Three were found not guilty and there was no decision on the fourth.

(53,339 posts)Our veterans' group spent a week there when we displayed our half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Coming from the high desert (Antelope Valley), seeing the lush green vegetation there was a real treat. And our setting was the lovely Veterans Park in Simi.
We were invited back early this year to set up a small display at a veterans charity event at the Reagan Library--in the Air Force One Pavilion, right where they're holding this CNN debate. I didn't understand how they could do it there until I learned from CNN that they built a floor where there wasn't one before.
We met a lot of great Simi people on our visits, and while it is a very conservative area, I wouldn't want to stereotype everyone there as racist.

(53,339 posts)We met when we set up the Wall, and later she came back with her husband and we talked for a long time. Great people! And they don't fit the Simi stereotype at all.
