1. I only joined DU after Katrina happened. And was surprised that Bush

was so non chalant about Kartrina! Prior to that, I only read DU.

My memory is fading, I joined DU shortly after Bush got re-elected, could not believe that he got elected again after 911. I found DU through another website.

They actually criticized John Kerry for being cheated out of the election, by Jeb Bush, right here at Democratic Underground! They claimed he didn't fight the Republican federal judge ruling hard enough!

4. He was NOT re-elected, at least not by the voters.

Electronic voting machines were used in OH to flip the election and as usual not enough people cared about pursuing the truth. Many people did care and because of their efforts, it's pretty clear how Rove re-routed the machine totals thru Chattanooga in order to add enough tilt to flip OH to Bush.

This is being done for the most part from the inside by the companies themselves and by only a few of the higher ups in these companies. Otherwise, the fear of a major whistleblower would be too great.

What makes it so difficult to get change here or even to get enough people to face up to the problem is that the only evidence that it's possible to get right now is statistical studies. Those studies show beyond question that the tilting is happening. But statistics is a difficult science for people to fully understand or credit.

Maybe the enormous upswelling of support for Bernie will make it possible to put enough attention on the issues now. We cannot go on relying on secret vote counting based on programming done by far right-wing individuals without any way to be assured that the vote counts that happen are legitimate.

If we are going to use these abominably unreliable, and easily rigged machines to count the vote, WE HAVE TO FIND WAYS TO VERIFY THE VOTE. We can do it by statistical methods and laws that demand that at some point the PAPER be HAND-COUNTED to make sure the totals are correct.

expensive invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, which (Rep) George W Bush Jr began and (Dem) Barack Obama ended but can't afford a little paper proof of election results is spooky.

Anyone who is able to hack DU computers to change numbers of recommendations, is probably able to hack and manipulate electronic voting machines.
