I think the PC Police have been a positive influence rather than a negative.

Yeah sure...some go overboard..no doubt. But overall Political Correctness has made people think about the consequences of their words and labels.

I think those who blast PC simply want to use any words and labels without any consequences.

It challenges our societal norms around casual bigotry.

Of course it can go be too much, but that's true of anything. Other than ice cream of which there is no too much.

Obviously, we can't be so coddled into thinking that anything we say might be offensive and therefore we have to remain vigilant over every little thing.

But the greater problem is that there are a lot of people who say things that are in fact offensive and ought to be called out on it.

And honestly, for all the people who rail against "political correctness" and people "whining about being offended", those people themselves are probably the biggest, most thin skinned whiners of them all.

"But why can't I say n****r when black rappers get to say it?"
