Asshat will boycott Pope's address to Congress because - well, the Pope just doesn't have the moral baggage he has - he's got that "liberal" thing going:
Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) said in an op-ed published Friday on Townhall.com that he has "both a moral obligation and leadership responsibility to call out leaders, regardless of their titles, who ignore Christian persecution and fail to embrace opportunities to advocate for religious freedom and the sanctity of human life."
"If the Pope stuck to standard Christian theology, I would be the first in line," he wrote. "If the Pope spoke out with moral authority against violent Islam, I would be there cheering him on. If the Pope urged the Western nations to rescue persecuted Christians in the Middle East, I would back him wholeheartedly. But when the Pope chooses to act and talk like a leftist politician, then he can expect to be treated like one."

(2,315 posts)Or is it just selective Chiefs of State he elects to ignore?
I'm glad for one thing. This clown confirms that the teachings of Jesus, as expressed by the Pope, clearly have a "leftist" political leaning.
Perhaps Gosar can spend the time we are paying him to read from the New Testament and learn something valuable.

(15,715 posts)You have to watch out for the different baptismal sects.
And I forgot the wine vs grape juice drama or the eat the wafer but can not drink the wine of in some sects you must drink the real wine. Hard to tell which ones are the true believers. I was raised as a baby-baptized and wafer eating and wine drinking Christian. I was not raised like those heathens that are different.

(7,759 posts)And Christ's theology, if there is such a thing, is that Christians are going to be persecuted and i don't recall Him saying that Christians should persecute in return. I have to go back and read the good book again.

(55,745 posts)U.S. Representative Paul Gosar is a member of the General Aviation Caucus, though hes not the member of any aviation-related committee in the House of Representatives. Why would Gosar join this caucus, then? Gosar doesnt have any professional affiliation with the aviation industry. Hes a dentist.
paul gosar aviation lobbyistsGosar does have one particular connection with the aviation industry: Lobbyist John Timmons. Timmons is a founding partner of The Cormac Group a lobbying firm.
This year, Timmons has personally lobbied Congress on behalf of the Air Transport Association of America, ASTAR Air Cargo, and US Airways. Timmons was once a Deputy Secretary in the Department of Transportation, but spent most of the 1990s as the head lobbyist for America West Airlines.
John Timmons has also written two checks for Paul Gosars re-election campaign.
