Lewis and Clark County Heritage Council Submits Confederate Fountain Recommendations to City (MT)

The Lewis and Clark County Heritage Tourism Council is ready to submit an historical narrative on the fountain for a potential sign.

Members recommend the city to approve a sign with the fountain's full historic background ...

"Describing the group, The Daughters of the Confederacy, that put the fountain in the park and giving some background on their organization," said Donna Torgerson, Heritage Council Vice Chair.

Which served to honor Confederate Veterans after the Civil War, but also supported the early Klu Klux Klan ...
