Google CFO Ruth Porat has made history in Palo Alto with the city's biggest ever home purchase, the Palo Alto Daily Post reports.
Porat bought a three-bedroom home at 1950 Cowper Street in July for an extraordinary $30 million.
The elegant Spanish colonial revival was originally built by local architect Birge Clark in 1932 for Levi Strauss heir Lucie Stern.
The home is spacious at 5,000 square feet and sits on nearly an acre of land with a swimming pool.

(50,269 posts)1. A nice home, but why does it need security bars on the windows?
If I could shell out that kind of cash, I'd at least want to live in a safe neighborhood . . . in a house that looked more like Downton Abbey than the Cleaver's rancher.

If I had 30 million I'd be a hermit or be a gadabout, not sure which. Probably just be me and thats that.

(25,406 posts)6. It's not a "1950" house, it was built in 1932.
The address is 1950 Cowper Street. Your subject line is a bit unclear.
