I can't wait to find out
Yavin4
(35,438 posts)He's a senator.
malaise
(268,987 posts)So it's not Christie - which leaves JebusEnoughBushes, Jindal or Kasich. Fuckabee was also a previous governor. Perry and Walker have dropped out.
Yavin4
(35,438 posts)He was a state legislator and then he became a U.S. Senator.

(20,885 posts)Rubio was not a governor. Nevertheless, I look forward to whatever exposure Rachel might provide.

(111,255 posts)and his history of corruption in Florida is a massive one.
My hopeis that it's Huckabee, though. A scandal involving Mr. Pious would be delicious.
It wouldn't do any good to expose Walker or Perry, they're out.

(27,315 posts)This said, I think she means Rand Paul. She has been after him for a while now.
If it is/was a governor. we have Bush, Huckabee, Jindal, Christie (but we know it is not him), Pataki, Gilmore (but who would care about those two). Who else?
malaise
(268,987 posts)Didn't even think of those last two. She said this person was/is a governor

(10,500 posts)the word "leading." But I don't think she would apply it to Bobby Jindal.
I admit that a governor is more likely, but not absolutely certain. A senator is also a possibility, especially one who was previously the Speaker of his state's House of Representatives. The corruption could have taken place when the person was in a previous position.
I suppose it could also be allegations of corruption against someone who ran a wing or department of a hospital. It doesn't have to be a politician.
That said, I am thinking it might be John Kasich. He is the only one who is a current or recent governor that can sort of be called a "leading candidate," since he managed to put together some decent poll numbers in New Hampshire for awhile. And unlike Jindal, he managed to escape being sent to the kids table for the debates.
On Edit: Also, didn't Mike Huckabee's son kill a dog once? Wasn't there some kind of allegation that Huckabee abused his power to help cover it up?

(507 posts)But, I guess her big news truly was old news about questions about how much Rand Paul knew about the whole Ron Paul/Michele Bachmann "scandal".
I could have sworn she said "leading" candidate. If she considers Paul a leading figure, it reinforces my "meh" opinion of Maddow.

(10,500 posts)A few other posters say that she just said something about Rand Paul. Was that all it was?
Bad move on Rachel's part if she was teasing a story that was nothing compared to what she implied it was.
With all her non-stop Trump coverage annoying regulars, this damp squib suggests desperation.
That was pathetic.
